Access to the website or correspondence with OATHOR does not by itself create a customer relationship, pilot, licence, partnership, fiduciary relationship, professional advisory relationship or obligation to provide technical materials.
OATHOR names, branding, original text, diagrams, publications, category materials and other original content are protected as applicable. No licence or right is granted except as expressly stated in these terms or otherwise in writing.
Nothing on this website waives or transfers OATHOR LTD’s intellectual-property rights.
Search indexing, and AI search or retrieval services that cite and link to the source page, are permitted.
Text and data mining of the HTML pages of this site, including their use to train artificial intelligence models, is also permitted. This permission does not extend to the Foundation Paper PDF and does not grant any right to republish, distribute or adapt content, except as set out under Permission to reproduce definitions and criteria.
OATHOR LTD reserves the rights of text and data mining in the Foundation Paper PDF published on this site, including its use to train artificial intelligence models, as an express reservation under Article 4(3) of Directive (EU) 2019/790 and equivalent provisions elsewhere.

OATHOR LTD permits reproduction of its canonical definitions of Execution Control Infrastructure, Execution Boundary, Independent Clearance Determination, Independence and Human Authority Layer, and of the criteria questions ECI-1 to ECI-7, including in commercial contexts, provided that the wording is reproduced unchanged, OATHOR LTD is clearly credited, and the applicable canonical OATHOR source is linked or, where a link cannot be given, cited by URL.
The identifiers ECI-1 to ECI-7 may be used only to refer to the corresponding questions exactly as published by OATHOR LTD. This permission does not permit altered questions to be represented as ECI-1 to ECI-7.
The self-assessment form published by OATHOR LTD, including at oathor.com/ai-agent-threats and as a CSV file, may be completed, reproduced, incorporated into assessment or procurement materials, and shared for the purpose of applying the criteria, with the credit and link required above. Formatting or layout may be changed for that purpose, provided that the wording, identifiers and meaning of the criteria are not altered.
Translation or other adaptation of the wording requires the written permission of OATHOR LTD.
Use of the OATHOR name is permitted only as reasonably necessary to provide the attribution required above. No other right is granted in the OATHOR name, logos, branding or trade marks, or in any patent, software, implementation method or other content, unless expressly stated.
Nothing in this permission authorises anyone to state or imply that an assessment, product, service or organisation is certified, approved or endorsed by OATHOR LTD, or that an assessment is an official OATHOR assessment, without the written permission of OATHOR LTD.
OATHOR LTD may amend or withdraw this permission at any time for material obtained after the effective date of the amendment or withdrawal. Uses already lawfully made under an earlier version of this permission remain subject to that earlier version and applicable law.
Quotation with attribution to OATHOR LTD and a link to the canonical page is welcome.
